General 2003 2.0 JTD Ducato Leaf spring help

Hi all
Please help. My Ducato has just failed its MOT on the rear drivers side leaf spring.
I have shopped around and got various prices (much better than garage prices), however I just got questioned as to wether I need a 'single' 'double' or 'triple' spring?
Now, they would not elaborate on that at all and just asked me to find out!
So here I am:
Could anybody tell me the difference in the above mentioned variations or tell me the correct version to order for my van?

not sure I understand your question
when you look under the van , how many leaves in the rear spring is the simple answer

So basically the spring would be a single strip of metal and additional strips would make it a 'double' or 'triple'!

I had visions of having to buy complete rear suspension springs and all sorts.

Why couldn't they have told me that over the phone?

why did it fail anyway ? spring gone weak or something ? what did the tester say was the problem?

maybe if that is the case it is still possible to do what used to be done ...whip the leaf out and re-temper it ....still is done in most parts of the world but despite british people thinking they are poor they are rich by world standards and just throw things away

on the other hand I had a similar problem in mexico ...., local spring man just added an extra leaf ! second hand , of course ....$10 if I remember correctly !
