Punto (Mk2/2b) 2002 punto wont start

Hi,
I have a 2002 punto and all of a sudden it wont start..battery seems ok as i get ignition lights and all electrics work but when i try to start the engine tries to turn over(it shudders a few times then stops)..also tried jump starting it and still nothing.

Any help is appreciated thanks..
