Hi, my beloved Doris The Ducato campervan has developed a wobble only on accelerating at around 50kph, well it's had it for some time only now its bad. The RH inner CV joint has some clunk to it if I twist it. The VIN is ZFA24400007064384. Was new in New Zealand in 2002, as a plain white van, was professionally converted into a 12-seater tour bus. We purchased about 5 years after Kung Flu and lockdowns stuffed up the guy's tour business we converted to a camper van.
The New Zealand go to for Fiat parts, has quoted me for the whole shaft $1100 included gst and freight. Whoo, so some searching on eBay comes up with complete shaft for about half of that including freight and customs. But apparently there are some variations. last night I used the Fiat eper site and came up with 1491244080 for the van (remember it was just a van) V4-van long wheelbase high sided 4x2
Can anybody help me be sure I order the correct on please
Thank you

Hi Green Vanper. Now that's the funny bit. The drive shaft complete and I quote:
"We do have ones here in stock, they were removed out of new vans years ago when had gearbox conversions done on them"

So I guess there about 20 years old, sitting on a shelf, possibly written off as stock years ago. But I'm going to make a great contribution to their **** fund!

However, with considerable considerations, will most likely buy his one even though it will mean potatoes only for dinners for a month or so, maybe flash them up with a tin of beans once a week. Maybe even a tomato perhaps (there about $15.00 a kg at the moment!

If I take a guess at one of about 5/6 of the ones in UK and get it wrong, by the time of paid freight 3x and customs 2x there is little left in it. Unfortunately, last week I wanted to remove complete shaft to do a teeth count and measurements but my assistant (he's the only guy I know with a 50mm socket and 3/4 inch bar to match) ., really wasn't into that idea, and just wanted the van off his hoist.

But thanks for your input.
Cheers

If there is a choice of two, my thoughts would be to go for the heavy duty version.
Reason being, I used to have a customer with the earlier 1997 2.8 Fiat 122hp Ducato Maxi Van which from memory was rated around 3.5 tonne, had 16 inch wheels and the heavier duty suspenion ball joints etc.
Also can you see the load rating on the chassis/Vin plate?
You could also mention to your supplier that it had the 50mm hub nut.
Is it possible to put a vernier gauge on the end of the drive shaft threaded part and get supplier to confirm that dimension as another guide possibly.
