Hello
the red engine shaped warning lamp on my Doblo 1.9 JTD ELX is permanently illuminated. It went out again briefly, but relit within a few miles. The handbook tells me this warning is for the diesel injection system
My independent mechanic cannot locate the problem. The laptop test shows a code (nfd) that refers to a faulty electrical valve in the turbo-- the main dealer says there is no such valve, and the whole turbo must be replaced at a cost of about £800,but they haven't even seen the car.
If the code is reset, the red lamp lights even when the engine is not running.
I've researched this site, and read about engine management ( ? the same warning), MAF sensors and EGR valves, but I just don't really understand which might be relevant to my problem.
I reckon the car will be needing to visit my main dealer asap, but I would be grateful for any advice from site members.
The car does infrequent long runs, and in 4 weeks will be needed for a 2500 mile trip. Most of the time it is used on short trips of less than 2 miles, but driven reasonably vigorously.
Thanks for any help offered.
