Technical 2001 ducato 2.8JTD Steering Column

Hi all,

recently bought a 2001 ducato motorhome with a 2.8 JTD engine. unfortunately it doesn't have an adjustable steering column, and I'm rather tall. Is there a way to fit an adjustable steering column if one was made for it around that time. or any advice would be great about making more space between my knees and the steering wheel.

Hi harveybean,

Your Ducato is an x230 model. That model was "facelifted" in 2002 to become the x244 which was manufactured until mid 2006.
The x244 is fitted with an adjustable steering column as standard. Given the similarity of the two base vehicles it may be possible to retrofit an x244 steering column into an x230.

However I think that there would be both mounting and electrical problems to overcome
