Ducato 2000 diagnosis

Help!!! 2000 Fiat Ducato 2.8jtd diagnostics. Took van into diesel specialist who can’t communicate with eco. They have the 2 pin adapter apparently but can’t connect. Is there anyone local to midlands that has the software to read the codes. We are getting desperate now as the van can’t be driven and whilst it’s at the garage we need it scanning there ASAP

are they using it correctly.?
a lot of us have the correct software.. but limited ( no..) experience of the
OBD generation 1 plugs.
