2000 1.2 punto replaced power steering problem

hi all i have just today replaced the complete power steering unit on my mk2 2000 1.2 punto. code light stays on and car will not start at all.i got the complete unit from a reputable guy who sells reconditioned units on ebay so trust all is ok but unsure why car will not start.any advice appreciated, Thanks.

have you plugged in both multiplugs (especially the one with CAN wiring)

sorry not sure what you mean all plugs are connected i have infact removed then reconnected. cheers

did you refit the aerial around the ignition switch?
