I have a 2.8 Ducato on a 05 plate with an eml fault occuring at about 3000 revs the eml light will come on, sometimes the engine will cut out other times it runs in limp mode. If it cuts out it will not start straight away. I have checked the waste gate and that works correctly. The fault doesn't happen so much with the turbo hose disconnected. I have tried to find a suitable Obd. reader but to no avail if some one could recommend one I would be gratefull. I can not make it fault whilst not moving even if I load the engine on the handbrake. The engine has a map sensor on the manifold and a cam sensor on the top pully but I cannot see if there is a crank sensor fitted anywhere. I believe it is the Iveco engine.
