2.4jtd flat spot on turbo?

Hey chaps and ladies,

Driving yesterday and my marea seems to have a flat spot in 3rd gear at 2,700rpm to 3,200rpm....

This is obviously in the turbo range and I can feel it mainly in 3rd gear, might be doing it all the time but can't test today due to the snow.

Does anyone know what could cause this as I have never noticed it before and I have had the car for over a year??

One of the symptoms of a faulty EGR is flat spots or hesitation.
