You fit a 2.4 bottom end from a Stilo along with other components, Of which I'm not sure. It costs thousands all in, depending on how far you take it (forged rods, Garrett turbo like a 2871R and so on)
so how does it effect the driveability then, im heading up towards the 3/400bhp figure eventually and woundered if it is worth the conversion for the figures or wether it is ok with just a 2.0ltr i mean will it make the power more accsesable?
It's a lot less laggy when you're running the bigger Turbo's, 500BHP + is possible. Flea runs 500BHP using the 2 litre lump and there's a fair few (NigelO who's on this forum for one) running over 400 with it too.
tbh its not the power figure im chasing its just a really fast car round the track, i mean yeah its nice to have big power but if it is only accessable for drag strips then its pointless if you know what i mean there is a lot of dyno queens about wihout sounding negative lol.
Would a stroker kit make the power more accsessable from lower revs etc as i know from having my last hgt near 200bhp the higher the power the higher the power band.
It would, but it's heck of an outlay just for that. If you want a track monster then you'll be keeping the revs up anyway so just stick with the 2.0 and spend the money getting a nice turbo and FMIC/SIP etc and the rest uprating the suspension and stopping power!
the intercooler i have at the minute is rated for 400bhp but im been swayed by charge coolers at the minute, seams a good idea if you want a sleeper lol.
They are but lots of abuse on the track can make them fade and over heat. Saying that mine are factory spec disks and pads. Need to invest in some better ones
Brembo's or not the stoppers on my coop are crap. My old little Rallye 106 I had before with it's 206 GTI calipers (front) and GTI rear discs (rear) was far superior. You can get decent stopping power out of them with decent discs and especially pads (Pagids are the kings) decent brake fluid helps and all.
I didnt think they were but as I say I know very little about them.
What are the power stats like?
Are they as fast as a 20vt standad v standard?
2.4 stroker may be on in my plans yet, it would be something id maybe do after everything else if i thought I need a bit more. As menioned in above posts the normal 2.0 can achieve 500bhp, my target of anything over 350bhp seems very achevable with the 2.0 so I doubt I will need to.
Who know's what the futer holds tho?
Anyway 20vt's with there extra 20 valves and 5 cylinders seems like a great engine to tune.:worship:
