cheers alex :D well you know i wouldnt want to moderate a dead forum, so am dragging them off the street :p

Matt when are you going to make your sig look more like mine and get some skirts on it (y)

When I have enough money for the skirts, and a respray, after I have paid for two front tyres (last set lasted 5 months  ) and new front left suspension, in fact I may as well replace the other side, and wishbones, then an oil change.

Basically don't hold your breath :D
But definetly on the "next mod to do" after a strut brace, that I was supposed to be lending from Hmallet till you nicked it
:p

If you want to change the wishbones you might as well have them done at the same time as the rest of the suspension, as it all has to come apart to change them. Get the wishbones, top mounts, droplink bushes all done at the same time, otherwise you're paying for the same work twice.

Don't worry, I'm sure sammi will be done with it soon, then we can talk about the beer-based fee for it's loan. (y)

Beer-based loan? how does skoll sound :D

Have you replaced those parts listed on your coop hmallet? what prices are we talking here? I really need to get it done, the back end steps out when Im harsh on the brakes, this is because the front left suspension is seriously dodgy. I need to get it sorted this payday, price pending.

Yes, had the front suspension done at iceberg's in Birmingham. I can't remember the cost of it all, but I think that the parts were probably about £150 or so (I ordered them with other stuff, from Alternative Autos), and labour probably about £100 (iceberg did some other stuff at the same time). I wouldn't fancy doing it myself, as the wishbones look a bugger to get in to place, and even iceberg had trouble compressing the springs on the suspension.

You'll have to ask sammi how much longer she'll be with the strutbrace.

I got the wishbones, drop links, top mounts, track rod ends, shock absorbers and ARB bushes replaced.
Cost for parts was about £400 (but remember this includes new shocks) and about £150 fitted including fitting an exhaust too.

The difference it has made is incredible.
The car used to oversteer on turn-in and I thought perhaps the rear bushes were knackered but it was just something at the front.
Now the car feels brilliant again.

Well I must say I'm glad I posted this message! It appears to have escalated into a "discuss everything about the coupe" thread, which is rather handy as now I can just click on this and get loads of info! Very much like the sound of that chip that takes it to 249bhp (Thank god not the DEADLY 250!) Will certainly be looking into this! On another note, my steering seems to be making a funny sound at full lock, (no idea what it is) kind of a knocking noise that gets quicker as the engine is revved, and I also get a weird "wooshing water" noise now and again. PLUS the other day, i was driving out of a car park entrance (A spiral slope thing) and it just cut out for no reason, which was rather scary as suddenly I couldn't steer and desperately needed too! When I got home I could hear the engine wasn't idling smoothly, (Going from about 600 up to 1200 and up again) until I revved the engine and it settled back down again! Wierd! Is this the beginning of my problems?!!

Other than that, I absolutley LOVE the car! It's superb and people are really rather impressed when they go in it. Now just waiting on the skirts, and need to sort the stereo and engine chip!

The whooshing water thing is something they all do.
The cut-out when turning may just be because of the power steering - it takes a wee bit of power from the engine as it's hydraulic so if you let the revs get too low then whack on a load of lock it can stall.

Knocking sounds like it may be the wishbone bushes although this wouldn't be engine speed related so could easily be something else.

I hope that you are right on these! I'm going to get PowerFiat.co.uk to have a look at it and see if there is anything amiss! Thanks for your thoughts though!
