Right, this has probably been covered or roughly somewhere but I really need a specific answer to my own problem if anyone can help.
I have a 1998 (S reg) Punto and it has been struggling to start recently even though I have tried two different, fully charged (albeit second hand) batteries in my car. They work fine but then the next night the car just won't start even though all of the lights work fine. This has only happened recently.
All other things such as alternator are fine too. My sound system has the stereo, which was wired straight to the battery because I don't have a clue how to wire it to the ignition, an amp, sub, parcel shelf speakers and tweeters. I was thinking that the problem was because of the stereo being straight from the battery, even though i remove the face every time i'm not in the car. I have now taken the live from the battery to the stereo off and will find out if it was that once i put another battery in.
I was just hoping that someone with a better knowledge might be able to help before I find out in a couple days that was the problem or I bother spending loads of money on something that has nothing to do with it.
Also, if anyone can help me with wiring the stereo to the ignition so I don't have to put it straight to the battery that would be greatly appreciated.
Many apologies for the very long winded post but thanks in advance for reading and trying to help me with my problem.
