Hi,
trying to replace a snapped cable. Bought one off E-bay & tried to fit it today & discovered that seems to be only half the length - has all the right fittings but too short. However, there is a plastic damper thing half-way up the original cable, but couldn't seem to get it off. I'm guessing that inside this damper thing the 2 halves of the cable ar joined, so that I could replace the broken bit between pump & damper with the parts I got from E-bay.
Is this right? How do I get into the damper thing without breaking it? Or do I need a completely new cable from pedal to pump? Looked at Eper & new cable about £44 - new damper about £10. If I knew that cable definitely split inside this damper I could break the old one & replace it for a tenner.
Any advice/ideas gratefully received. Have bodged the old cable, so still running for now - but won't last forever!
Many thanks.
