Need more pics but a black Selecta

homeward - Whats your next excuse?

No. Plate is supposedly worth something so no excuse not to buy it...

No excuse. Just a good reason... -- that I've got twice as many Pandas as you, already...! :p

I think Liquid Knight mentioned this, somewhere: as I've already seen it....

Does this mean I can drink that bottle of JD that's still sat in Pippin's boot...? :D
Definitely not
Now that I know I'm taking Char' to Portsmouth, possibly the next time your at Verns (or the time after that) I may be able to come and take that off your hands.... or should I say out of Pippin's boot.....

I dropped this on the written off Panda Selecta thread as a viable replacement.

No reserve auctions with bids placed within an hour of listing set alarm bells off for me.

422 bids, and 15 quid... -- or perhaps the other way round....

And that plate's worth about as much as this one...! ;)

I won this on ebay for my girlfriend...........but have had problems with it already had a fuel pipe gone after fixing that I run it up to check cooling fan etc.......and it over heated.
The head gasket had gone on cylinder 1 which I've replaced so now it doesn't pressure rise the cooling system, fan cuts in, heater works and the temp sits at 90.

I know it's a old car and I'm going to have to sort bits on it but it must have had the problem with overhaeting when it came off the road as you see rust water marks.
Plus the listing said it had been off the road for a few years..........which turns out it was last on the road 2008

Going to check it over today and get it ready for a mot

The old owner is not replying to on messages on ebay about the head gasket

Sounds like it's in good hands! Welcome...! (y)

Feel free -- hint, hint... -- to start a Members Motors thread for it. That way you can document your progress; and we get to see lots of nice piccies...! :D

As I paid cash I have no come back on eBay so much for buyer protection and havn't got anywhere with the seller.

Hope you get it sorted.

To be fair the listing doesn't say anything about condition other than it starts and runs. It's clearly a project with no MOT & has been off the road for a few years, so work is almost inevitable.

If it's solid and otherwise in good condition, you should end up with a good one eventually (y) Plenty of helpful advice available on here, so keep going & let us know how you get on. (y)

If you get away with just a HG and a fuel line than id say you were lucky. The real joy with the selecta is the gearbox, when they work, they are lovely cars but the knollage about the box seems limited.

Its a sod but as you probably know the HG not a massive job on these thankfully. Id spend the extra however go get the head down a machine shop and get it checked/pressure tested as it can save you a hope load of time fault checking later on.

Best of luck with it, look after it and it will look after you (y)

It's a solid car just needs a drivers door and a bit of paint but it's a tidy car for a 1992 plus drivers seat is going.

Been getting it ready for a mot done Nearside metal brake pipe, checked brakes, 3 bulbs and cleaned washer pump filter.
I pulled the head off and gasket has gone on cylinder 1 so have just stuck a gasket on first going to mot at the end of the week.

My Alfa 155 runs out of mot at the end of the month and I need to do some brake pipes, overhaul the complete subframe frame and a few days welding..........so this is going to go off the road
