Hi all,

Well this is my first post and i thought i'd introduce my good friend Deb's 1969 500. It was purchased about 7 years ago as an Mot'd runner, but was always going to be a restoration project. I shall let the photo's do the talking...

It's my friend Deb's pride and joy, ill put some more detailed photos up when its finished (Still got to do the interior)

Unfortunately during the build, the only part that was mislaid was the nearside door lock mechanism. I fitted a cheap chinese replacement (all that was available) and its awful. It doesn't latch very well at all:bang:

Does anyone have, or know where i can get hold of a serviceable genuine one? its the only thing letting the car down. I'm also after the little light that sits inside the rear view mirror, and a horn push/steering wheel badge, as it never had these when it was purchased.

I hope you like the car, and any help would be greatly appreciated(y)

Paul

Hi Paul and welcome to the forum!

Nice looking car - thanks for posting the photos.

As for genuine parts it's possible someone may have the bits you need but unfortunately there are a lot of low quality parts around.

We bought new chrome door handles for ours and quite honestly the finish and chrome is awful.

Good luck and keep us posted!
