Hello, well I have seen some FIAT Coupe 16" alloys for sale, and I think they would look "well-trick" (as you would say (y) ) on my Uno!

I think I'd need 195/45 tyres - yes? The wheels are 7" wide!

Is anyone here running 16" wheels - whaddya reckon? My Uno Turbo is lowered by approx. 40mm.

My front tyres are worn out, and generally when tyres wear out on my cars, I use it as an excuse to buy different wheels :)

Thanks,
-Alex

I'd say 205/45 or even 225/45. Wider the better too, no?

I have 6" wide Stilo wheels in the garage which I wanna _try_ and stick on the Uno. They have 205/45's on them.

Can't believe the post - I was just about to ask if 16's would fit on an Uno without mods. So? ;)

there was a turbo i went to look at a few years ago, the met green one from finchley way (below), the black one below from north london which were wearing 16" lancia alloys, cant remember the tyre size, and i saw one under construction in slough that apparantly was going to have a set of 16's or 17's. i think the only real issues are rub on the nearside where the gearbox casing is, and at the back for the trailing arm clearance, mines 6.5" wide and its close (like about 5mm!) and of course the bluey from avanti (i think)...hey look 200 posts!!!!!

ive just ordered my 16" compomotive mo's. they will fit but gonna have to trim the arches and im going to be running 195/40/16 profile tyres.

compomotive were great on the phone and found out all the measurements needed to get fiat coupe brembo brakes on, correct offset needed for this and the correct pcd. no wheel spaces needed :D gotta be specially made tho lol :(

Thanks for all the responses!

I've had a bit of a rethink - 195/45 16 tyres seem difficult to get, and 195/40 16(impossible) would be preferable I think. So, I'm going to get some 15" wheels off a friend of mine: Steve Spiers. Any of you that know the Turbo Collective forum regulars will know who 'Steve' is :D

The price at the moment is NZ$700 for four wheels including tyres (two tyres better than the other two). That's about 240 pounds.

Steve's Uno Turbo had these wheels for some time. They have 195/45 15 tyres, which still sounds good to me.

ts86, I'm not terribly keen on the idea of wider tyres: as you said, any spacers will accelerate wheel bearing wear AND I reckon the steering feel will suffer. There's really no need for 205 tyres on an Uno? Bear in mind that when you fit wider tyres, the contact patch becomes shorter (because of the decrease in weight/area). This can affect the steering geometry. Plus, I think they'll rub on the gearbox. But - please try and get them on, it would be nice to know for sure ;)

Then again I suppose those wheels in the pics that Turboned supplied probably have 205s or larger... Those Integrale wheels look nice!

It would be nice to know specifically what sizes/tyres they are?

Dunc - meanwhile - nice to hear of your plans, 195 width, sounds good to me ;)
I don't think I have as much money to throw at my Uno as you do... maybe I should come over and work in England... earn more than three pounds/hour... LOL

15" wheels

Hi again,
Sorry, this should have been in the 'Styling' forum (I'm still getting used to having the three separate areas! well, that's my excuse...)

Here's a pic of Steve's Uno Turbo, taken a while ago, with the wheels that I want to purchase. Seems to me that they are quite modern (not 80's or 90's)but since I'm now 25 I guess I'm on my way to becoming an old fart, it would be good to know what you guys think :) and whether you have any 'favourite wheel' pics to post...

Price is equivalent of 265 pounds, including two very-good and two good 195/45 tyres.

Thanks,
-Alex
