I'm presently shopping around for alloy wheels, but can't decide on which size to go for as the title suggests, it's only a 1.1 with an induction kit so don't want to affect performance greatly but want to get the arches more filled as my current 13" with fat tyres look daft.

I'm planning on lowering the car too, unsure of how much currently (though lots of speedbumps in my area), but most likely 40 or 50mm.

What depth and width of tyre is best suited? I'm mixed between 45 and 50 and 195/205, bearing in mind I don't have power steering, I'm thinking 16" with a 45/195 profile is best?

The alloys I've got in mind are the BK Racing BK158 16" or WR Excite Twin Blade 15", I've got a black car so I may opt for black alloys.

Any help/suggestions/advice/pictures etc appreciated.

if its only a 55s you better off with only 15" maximum imo cos the top end speed will be badly afected if you go any bigger but i would lower it 50mm should have no problems,i have 195/50 15s on my car but some have even bigger but as you dont have power steering i wouldnt go to big see what other people on here say

Spoken to my insurance company, it'll cost me an extra £21 to have alloy wheels added to my policy as my excess is already really high (£450), need to have locking wheel nuts but that's not a problem.

Hopefully going to order the wheels at the end of the month when I get paid, I'm owed £100 back pay due to National Insurance contribution errors ontop of my regular £900 pay packet, going for the 15" BK166's, found them for £350, though need to check on the tyres which they come with as I don't want budget tatt. :)
