Well the wife's Alfa 147 has been involved in a shunt..Nobody hurt..slow speed roundabout collision. The car has been written off, therefore I'm on the outlook for a good "Bravo or 147" Anyone know of any suitable cars on the market?

Sorry to here gengis :( ,Can you wait till Sunday?, the show might point you into the right direction,Hope you get one sorted out real soon,

Cheers Don

Problem is...I've got the wife as picky as me when going for a car, colour, shape, and spec. But hopefully I'll get something soon, and Don I'll be sweeping the grounds on Sunday for a replacement.

ill speak to the father as its currently at his house where there was room. and ill get some solid information on it and send it to your email gengis. as for pics, check that thread, all stickers gone and its still got the alfa wheels :).

130k on clock and no known issues, no service history unfortunatly as i lost it, (did have it though) and as can be verified by online MOT history check its looked after as its not only never ever failed, but never even been given a advisory.

ill get solid info and get back to you anyways. no point speculating.

I've got a replacement for the Alfa...another Alfa. 147JTD 16v. First foret into the dirty diesel world, test drove a diesel last week, a 8 valver...clutch was heavy, felt sluggish, and didn't ride the bumps well, I was quite put off it. But I drove this one today and it felt completly different..maybe it was just better looked after.

Black with red leather interior..well red leather seats, door cards are suede..good combo. Also has six speed gearbox which it probably needs with spirited driving, as power band is quite short lived with the modern diesel. Although the wife will probably just use the first four gears!...drives like a vicar.

Good to hear you bagged a replacement motor, sounds like a decent one too :) Only really driven the one diesel motor - a 57-plate Vectra. Didn't like the car all that much, but the engine seemed pretty decent. Kept hitting the rev limiter though lol
