I cant buy any more engines either, running out of space.
I will be off to strip 3 126's tomorrow morning and therefore have another 2 engines & gearboxes.
I don't know where I am going to store it, but I cant let it go to the crusher!
For a 126 gearbox, give Lukasz at L.P.Garage in Sudbury (Suffolk) a shout---he often has them for sale. One has to accept that they are 2nd hand, so the condition internally is a bit 'pot-luck', but I have had 2 off him and had no problems. If you are going to fit the box to a 500, you will need to fit 25mm500 drive-shafts, and transfere the bell-housing off your 500 onto it (not a difficult job). If you are fitting a 126 engine into the car, as well as the gearbox, you will need a 126 starter (you can still use the 'wire-pull' variety) as well as dust-shield between the starter and the bell housing, the specific 3rd bolt and the brace that goes between the back of the stater and the gearbox. Why are you fitting a 126 gearbox? the 500 'box is the stronger 'box.
