ok ive took the dive and am buying one first thing in the morning. 100 quid with manifold and throttle body.

anything i need to be aware of when looking at it.

will do full service and that later in month.

got the codes i need,

andthing else?

is it out of the car, can you hear it run? how long has it been stored for? Any holes into it from missing bits (IE plugs. I bought an engine that had a plug missing from it and it had been stored like that. that cylinder was rusted up when i cracked it open and the engine was scrap.)

why are you getting the manifold, you don't need the inlet manifold from the punto.

assuming the engine has the manifold and tb still attached to it, check for oil in the induction system, and around the inlet ports. there shouldn't be any, or any sign that some has pooled there.

ask the basic questions about storage time and that.

and why dont i need the inlet manifold. (was in price anyway so i thought might aswell.)

What 1242 is it, the 8v or 16v????

8v. having a bit of trouble finding the engine code too. i know where it should be but cant find it .

anyone got a picture of one.
