are all the 1242 8v mpi engines the same, i mean Evan the new cars? Im looking for a really low mileage one and just want to make sure the plastic manifold off my 1.1 8v mpi and the supersprint manifold will fit. Or is there a way i could use the manifold that is already on the engine? Thanks

Well after reading that sounds like a right pain, do you mean the supersprint manifold i already have or one for the 1.2 Panda? If the sei inlet is restrictive, would it be possible to use the standard manifold for that Engine? how much did you pay for your engine? And how much was the total sum of parts needed?

The 1.1 Supersprint or CSC manifold won't fit as it hits the sump. However, the CSC upper part can be used and a new bottom halve made.
The mani-cat wont fit because it's too close to the slam panel and you can't fit the much needed heat shield. I say much needed because the heat from the 1.1 mani-cat melted the plastic bonnet pull guide. :)

The engine was supposed to be a 26K one bought for £200, but after I stripped/checked/replaced or re-worked what was needed it now stands me at over £700.

I will see what happens with regard to the inlet manifolds performance when it is running.
