Hey boys and girls
I have a 999cc FIRE engined Uno. The clutch is starting to go and i'm building a 1242cc punto 60 engine.
I have bought a tricker 40mm throttle body as my car already runs spi, but i stumbled onto a horific discovery lol, my spi unit has an air temp sensor on it and an "Idle speed check actuator lead and throttle position Switch lead".
The tricker tb and sei ones have bolting holes in different places and don't have the connectors either.
Does this mean that if i want to run a tricker tb i have to use the ignition system off of a punto 60 or similar sei?
I say about using a different ignition system because in the haynes book it says the data from the air temp and idle speed etc go back to the ecu.
If i just get a punto 60 inlet mani and plumb the fuel pipes to the throttle body and leave the air temp and throttle position sensor dissconnected then the injector won't fire because the ecu won't know how open the throttle is and then the engine won't run.
I didn't want to have to install a different ignition system as i wanted to use the uno's distributor as it is easy to advance and retard ignition as the fire engine on mine doesn't have a knock sensor, do the p60 engines have knock sensors?
Sorry for the questions but i was hopeing this was going to be an easy swap and an easy mod and i've been looking at uno wiring diagrams and at the different fueling systems and can't make sense of it lol.
Thanks
Dan
