I know a bit about the Multi but not enough. I had a petrol 2001 about 4 years ago which was a great car but was a 3rd car so didnt need to be chosen with such care!. Now we have a baby and some big euro trips coming up I am keeping an eye out for a good deal so need to be armed with info.

Has anyone owned both facelift and bug-eye??

I guess mechanically the last of the bug-eye and first of the facelifts are the same mechanically. There are some obvious spec differences but are there any hidden cost savings that have now come apparent or maybe items like extra sound proofing/refinement that are nice to have?
Suspension issues seem worse on the later cars although I think the rear suspension was redesigned slightly at some point.

Did the multijet engine launch with the black interior plastics?

Is the multijet much quieter and more refined than the older JTD unit? it seems to use more fuel but are the performance gains worth it? Does it make any difference once you are up and running?

In 2008 the emissions seemed to take a slight dip, was this when the DPF was fitted and were there any other updates at this time?

Has anyone tried to retro fit the Eleganza multifunction steering wheel to a dynamic?

Thats all for now!

Dont know
Dont know
Dont know Dont know and err Dont know .

Ill get me coat.

you need to wait for Moriarty to come along, he has had both

I don't know the answers to your questions, however I believe that rear discs were only on the multi for a short time and they are a common problem area, which may explain why they went back to drums

Both my Multis 2001 JTD105 Sx and 54 JTD115 Eleganza have had height adjusters on the drivers seat.
Both with drums.
The 105 was better on fuel by about 2 mpg
My current 54 still has the grey plastics - i think they changed to black with the revised front lamps(no amber lense) which may coincide with the multijet introduction
hope this helps

Another question if anyone knows the answer.

The 120 engine was fitted midway through 2006, but in 2008 there was a drop in the CO2 output. Was this when the DPF was fitted or do all 120s have a DPF and there was just a tweak to drop it a tax bracket in 2008?

Nothing else seemed to change then.
