Alright guys

Just a quick questions got my punto ELX few weeks ago noticed that the 100w sub is not working in the boot?.. thing is i have a pioneer HU in the car so i was wondering if that has something to do with it?. If so is there a guide on how to get it to work?

Yeah its a factory fitted on pal. Just a little 100w one in the boot thats all.. i noticed other day that its not working thats all.. And yeah i assume the pioneer clippyoff is not sending the signals to it. Any ideas on how to fix it ?

First question really should be has it ever worked with the aftermarket head unit in the time you've had it? If it has, then theres a fault somewhere.

If it hasn't, then chances are you have a connection missing somewhere... start with power:

The Black wire on the sub connector is ground. Use a multimeter to test that you have zero resistance between this and the car chassis.
The red/white wire is perminant +12v, so check for this with a multimeter set as a DC voltmeter between this wire and the black wire.
The grey wire is the 'remote-on' wire for the sub. It should be receiving +12v when the headunit is on to turn on the sub. If its not, you need to manually wire this in to the back of the head unit. Most headunits have a 'remote-on' or 'auto-antenna' output you can use for this.

Finally, the remaining 4 are high-level audio signals from the left and right rear speakers.

No its never worked since i have had it. So i need to basically check the remote cable?. if its not working then i have to wire the Red/grey cable to the remote cable on the back of the HU ?

It's also worth checking through the sub menus on the HU.
