Technical 100hp exhaust inner Diameter

The flex section of the Panda 100Hp exhaust has cracked, considering fixing myself with a flex clamp-on kit (an ebay special).

Does anyone know the inner/outer diameters of the Panda 1.4 exhaust

I actually got a mobile fitter to fit it as the old one had to be cut out. He didn't report any problems fitting it and it's been leak free for 2 1/2 years now.

shame its not a 1.1 or 1.2 its cheaper and easer to change the whole front section. No centre box £20 including some spare clamps.

I have never priced up a 100hp. 100hp parts normally have a premium. Does anyone know if the 500 1.4 fits ?

Some of the aftermarket centre sections use the same part number for the 100hp and the 500 1.4 sport.
Doesn't guarantee they fit, but seems likely.
Back boxes/rear sections seem to vary, but that could just mean the chrome tip is different.

It will fit. It's all the same underneath.

A generic 50mm flexi and swaged section for the middle are about £40 if you are not precious about the centre muffler. Does get louder with no centre muffler but not stupidly so, infact it's considered a decent mod if combined with a standard back box.

I believe you can buy a catback to backbox pipe for £90 all in which is reasonable if you don't weld.

Thanks everyone, still a little confusion. Two recomendations, one with 45mm, the other 50mm. Which is correct diameter for a clamp in solution?

I found it a bit of a pain as it is 2 different diameters. From the manifold end it is 45mm, then It goes to 50mm. I bought a slightly shorter 50mm flexi with clamp ends and a 50 to 45 reducer. I chopped the clamp end down on the flexi and welded the reducer on. I also found it needed a bit of an angle for it to sit nicely.

The old flexi needed chopping out with a reciprocating Saw, which was awkward on your back, but doable.
I had the added complication that the exhaust hanger was rotten too so I had to make a clamp on hanger as well.

I clamped it all on, but it took 2 attempts to seal properly. It was a bit of an arse of a job, but not too bad.

I would be tempted to just get a garage to do it unless you want to do it yourself.
I am half expecting the rest of the exhaust to need changing in the next couple of years, but it's currently looking reasonably solid.

The bracket on the sump bottom that supports the exhaust is notorious for evaporating (mild steel clip against stainless pipe). It is however very important if you don't want the weld at the bottom of the catalyst to crack. Take care removing the bolt from the sump. Mine had sized and cracked the "boss". No fundamental harm but it's now useless for exhaust support.
I welded up a T shape bracket that bolts to the exhaust joint flange - mine has bolts rather than studs. The other end sits under a gearbox bell housing bolt.

My plan is to get a stainless rear box made up to replace the rusting mild steel box. The front section will get done later to spread the cost.

Bringing this back to life, looking to replace the centre section of my 100hp from what i can gather the od of the centre section is 50mm is this correct?

It's highly unlikely that you have the OEM exhaust. You will have to measure the pipes that you have. I would seriously consider getting a stainless system made.

Will have to get it up on stands and have a look, You make a very good point with the year i doubt it would be original. Hadn't thought of that looks about 2inch from first inpsection though.

I'm planning on making a stainless system by welding up pre-bent pipes. The mid box is easy enough with a "universal" oval box. The complexity comes at the rear silencer. Still "hummin n hahrin" over that.
