10 vs 12 inch sub

Been reading about the types and it's a little confusing.

Smaller for punchier bass or bigger for stronger?

If I want to solely play high bpm (170+) dance music, can a 12" keep up, or should I be sticking to the 10"?

A 12 would keep up but a 10 would be a lot more comfortable.
If you were 2 have a spec made box for a specific sub and do all little tweaking with the box like adding some 45 degree at the corners of the box and a correct size port length and diameter you would have the best of both like I did.
