Hi,

I have suzuki sx4 with fiat's 1.9jtd 8v engine. I noticed high fuel consumption since I bought it, it's kinda easy to stall when it's cold and there is a very loud turbo spool noise when braking with engine with second gear only.

I did some log's and I noticed that the car overboost 24/7, on idle the car should be at atmospheric pressure right? Mine sits 200mbar higher than that or desired. Although it overboosts, it seems the movements are right on point with desired. This made me guess that the previous owner might have adjusted the turbo actuator and shortened it.

Is it possible to tell the exact cause from the graph? Maybe I could do some testings before jumping to ripping the turbo out?

I looked at actuator when the engine starts and shuts off, its moves freely and the movements are sharp. I tried removing vacuum hose and checked the pressure then, it felt down only 30bar. So I came to conclusion it's either gunked up turbo vanes or the turbo actuator needs adjusting, right?

Here are the diagrams of boost pressure and intake quantity.
