As above im separating the gearbox, from the engine, well started it,but as i was splitting the two slowly/carefully,it looked like it was just the outer casing that was moving and all the internals were not.

So i stopped and it was late anyway, what i was wandering is do i have separate the the clutch/fly wheel housing first? then separate the box from that??

This may seem a silly question, but this is the first time i have tackled such a job,and dont want break anything while doing it as it is already sold.

I will suss it eventually, but that might be after i have broken something :( a heads up would be great.

its easier to drop the whole engine out and seperate it on the ground. the flywheel shouldnt move it should stay attached to the engine. make sure you remove the little metal cover from the bottom of the fly wheel that is held on by a few tiny 10mm bolts

Thanks again Ash,for yet more spot on advice.

Job done :) and learned a few things to,dropping the hole lot was indeed the best way to go.

Cheers Scotty
