i have a fiat stilo 1.9 jtd i have a problem with the power delivery from the engine. then i put my foot down i get no power what so ever until 2000 rpm the a great amount of power cums has any one got any ideas

Nah mate the JTD boosts from about 1,650rpm. There's even some puff after 3,500rpm.

The old VAG 1.9TDI is more like what you are describing but the JTD is much more flexible.

If the power is anything like mine at the moment then undedr 2000rpm there is absolutley no power at all to the point of having to ride the clutch to get things rolling as the car bogs down so easy, also the amount of smoke chucking out the back is more reministant of the flying scotsman than Stilo JTD... my old JTD pulled in top gear from just over 1000rpm with 4 people in it along the flat with ease and no smoke.
This issue is almost like the engine is starved of air and just chokes up until the revs rise and the turbo then pulls the revs up... over all the car feels weeel under power even with the turbo spinning but does at least drive alomost normally over the 200rpm mark.

yes the Turbo starts to Boost at 1650 but you dont actually feel anything until about 2000RPM.

I think what is being experienced is just general turbo lag.

New air &fuel filter may help perhaps. The JTD uses a variable geometry turbo which involves dynamic vanes that control the amount of exhaust gas it takes to spin up the turbo. This gives alot more torque at lower RPM than conventional turbo chargers. Make sure there are no gas leaks from the manifoldto the turbo charger (found low down on the front of the engine just behind the radiator) Check for any split hoses from the intercooler also.

I have exactly the same problem with my 115 jtd multiwagon.

It's at the Fiat dealer and they don't have a clue what the issue is as no fault codes are showing.

I'll put a post up if Fiat can solve this issue, not holding out for much
