Technical 1.7 Diesel engine?

Hi all, just a quick question...

Does anyone know if the 1.7 diesel engines fitted to the Tipo's are the same as ones fitted to the Uno's?

By the looks of it I'm the only one in the Uno forum with a diesel Uno! Would be good to have a source of information on the engine...

The 1,7 Fiat (Turbo) Diesel is even used by Alfa Romeo in several recent models, like 145/146, of course it was re-badged AR, but it's basically the same engine.
Don't forget the Ritmo ( Strada) Diesel, same engine...!!

Mine (in the Uno) is a non-turbo 1.7, are all the others turbo versons?

They came in both versions, around 1995 they became turbocharged.
I have a non turbo 1700 Diesel in my Fiorino Pick-Up as well ( 1993 version)

I could do with getting a Haynes manual for the non-turbo engine, would either the Fiorino or Strada ones cover it then?

Are the gearboxes the same as well?

Pity the coil springs aren't...

No Haynes for the classic Fiorino I'm afraid, but you can use any manual that covers the 1,7 Fiat Diesel....!
Basically, the gearboxes are the same as well, but they are slightly different on various models....!
