Technical 1.6 sport HELP!!

My Stilo when turning the car on keeps shaking and making a loud noise all the water had gone from it container whic i have now replaced.

It shakes for a few mins then its the normal car it normally is? the engine management light has just come on.

a mate said it may be head gasket and another said try changing spark plugs before i take it to garage would this help?

or do you have any more ideas that would help me save myself a fortune?

car is 05 plate and done 30,000miles

Could well be head gasket. It'll cost £15 - £20 to get a compression test done and that's the only way to be sure. Or you can buy a compression tester for about the same.

Thats what i been told, im gonna tke it to the garage and get it looked at, thanks
