General 1.6 mjet servicing

Hi all,

I bought a 2010 grande punto 1.6mjet about a month ago. It's had 2 services from new, one at 6k and had its 18k service at just over 17k, however that was almost 2 years ago. Now at 26k and nearly 2 years it's due another.

I usually get it done by a local garage but i have read that on the grande the service reminder needs resetting but also a counter in the Ecu for an oil change for the dpf filter will need resetting too.

Is this something a local garage won't be able to do and therefore best I just go to a dealer for a service?

On the gp you do have to reset the the service interval after servicing and the dpf reset as well. This can be done via multiecu scan or via a dealer. I personally get local garage do car then connect and reset it myself with multiecu scan. I've got a petrol though
