1.6 HSX to 1.9 JTD engine switch?

Hi all,

I have a Brava 1.6 HSX gasoline and was wondering whether an engine switch to 1.9 JTD would is possible and if so, what else have to be replaced.

Would it be possible at all? Has anyone in this forum done it?

anything is possible with enough money.... the cost of doing the conversion would out weigh the cost of buying a working JTD brava.


The JTD is only slightly quicker than the 1.6 and the MPG gain you would never get back for the cost.


if you are hell bent on the conversion you will need...


Engine
gearbox
ecu
wiring
return fuel feed
drive shafts
hubs
calipers
suspension
fly by wire accelerator
JTD speedo cluster
intercooler
radiator
fuel filler hose if the diesel pump nozzle is bigger than petrol in your country.



there is prob loads more... but it's just not worth it in my opinion!!!

You would probably need the fuel tank too.

wouldnt bother imo,just buy a jtd for sake of it
