Need a first car thats afordable to insure as well, Look at a Panda (original) or a Cinq. Not going to be £2000 quotes on those.
When I first passed my Test I got myself a Lancia Y10 with the 1ltr Fire engine in it. the car didnt last very long but I changed it for a much newer and A1 condition Uno with the same engine in it. It wasnt until 3 years after owning the Uno that I got a much larger car, a rover 214sli. hi spec and high performance and insurence quotes of over £700 still. Much cheaper then the £2k quotes on the punto but its still not cheap.
On a side note, That quote me happy place quoted me £750 to insure my Brava 80SX. thats with 4 years ncb as well. but got it down to £350 with more than, while directline where close at £380. Pays to shop around as well
