My 1.4 12v sx reached 200km/h. Does the 1.2 reach taht speed? I don´t understand why does everybody say so many bad things about this engine... never had any problems... Only the engine noise, but is not so bad as you say.

200kph haha yeah right...speedo 'may' be ever so slightly out there...

Re: Untitled

Wow 55.5555556 metres a second - god love google

Re: Untitled

i have reached an indicated 120mph in my 1.4 before so this guys claim of an indicated 125 isn't that unreasonable. Theres no need to be so harsh, the guy probably doesn't realise how inaccurate tyhe spedo gets once you pass about 80mph...

so for his benefit i'll suggest that on a good road, with the 1.4 in top condition, no passengers or unneccesary weight in the car, and a little fuel in the tank, plus optimal weather he could probably reach a realistic 180kph or 110mph.

Nathan, thats 50 metres per second for your benefit :D

I know it can do it. Can you prove it cant?

Re: Untitled

I also had mine showing 125mph once in my 1.2. However I know that the 1.2 angel tuned or not will not do that sort of speed (pre angel tune anyway!)
Speedo's get way out at top speeds

your all talking ******** about the speedo being out my bravos speedo is perfect checked it on radar at 70mph on speedo and on radar its doing 68 at 95mph its doing 93mph it is digital its just the dial that is analogue but u get the idea its 2mph out at every 10mph increment there is no arguement if if it says 100mph and ur on 17inch wheels with 205/45/17 tyres then you are doing 98mph

Boas Luis.
És tuga? :D
Como deste com este site? por acaso não o viste no site do tuning online? :p

i had a 1.1 fiesta, max speed stated was 90mph, it did that figure on the flat +5 with hill, the same with the bravo, 120/122 stated depending where, +5 down a hill.. i just get fed up of the repetitive posts about claimed speeds.

i best sell up the 1.8 and save on the insurance with a 1.4 then if theyre this fast...

Oh..if the car has mods...i take it back :p lol

its not the top speed its how quick it gets there lol

I can usually get about 100mph out of my 1.4, the most i've had is about 110mph, then again its a brava not a bravo so i'm assuming it weighs a bit more.

i ahd 110 mph from a 1.2 sx and the sat nav gave me a spead of 107mph but i belive it would go faster but didn't have enough road.

speedos lie, but as all most people have to go on is the speedo reading, then almost all cars are judged by this figure.

The original post doesn't say if it was down a slight gradient, with a strong wind behind him whilst slipstreaming a faster car.

Why whenever someone says that they did such and such a speed do others rip the ****. They could well have seen 200kph on the clock. They never claimed it was a radar certified, guiness book approved 200kph.

I ride a 250 trailbike which on a good day with a following wind and a favourable slope will indicate 160kph. I know the speedo reads approx the same as other vehicles cause I've compared it with mates cars and bikes, yet when I said on the ttr forum that mine indicated 100mph there was a bloody witch hunt. (someone asked for indicated top speeds so I replied)

Had the usual peeps on there,I spent 3k on parts and tuning, it puts out 60bhp (from a 600cc) and mine only does 90mph. You gotta be talking b*ll*cks, But I only said what I saw.

Same with the original poster I believe.

So lets cut em some slack hey?

here here!

and Ash (not Ash G) just because you have allegedly tested your cars speedo at 70mph with radar doesn't mean that Louis, or mine for that matter is calibrated exactly the same, nor is the speedo error fixed throughout the range. if it reads 2mph wrong at EVERY speed, then what speed does it display when parked? my gues is 6mph :D :D :D
all cars are different, as are the drivers. which is why two bravos with the same year, trim and engine size, will still have slightly different speedo reading, 0-60 times etc etc

On a side note i simply dont believe you have had your car radar tested (which is also not an infallible measuring instrument), so i guess going by your own logic you are talking total ******.

when i had my wee 1.4 i managed to get 122 out of the speedo, i never had any reason to doubt the speedo it was always pretty accurate, i reckon i was going about 115 maybe

it was a cold morning no passengers and an empty motorway

#but i am sure there is something we can ALL agree on, the 1.4 after u get to the ton mark is skittish as hell and even a gust of wind makes the car jump from lane to lane !
