Hi folks
At the stage now where I'm looking at needing to replace the discs and pads front and rear, and wondered if anyone had done any upgrades on these parts on this model. Not thinking anything extreme, just a bit of extra reassurance, maybe even just upspeccing on the standard size items?
Cheers.

It's worth checking the size of your brake discs and then comparing them to the brakes on the bigger engined models. If 1.4 has smaller parts then without a doubt it would be possible to get the discs, frames and calipers from one of the bigger engined models and stuff those in there.

I'd look at just the front to start with... since it's possible to over-brake the beast. 1.4 is quite light and HUGE brakes would just make it lock up all over the place.

Make sure your wheels are big enough to cope with a bigger caliper too... although my 1.9 JTD has 15" steel rims as standard, so I don't think the JTD discs/calipers can be too big in the overall scheme of things.

Otherwise, the Brembo's fitted to some Alfa Mito's have been stuffed into a variety of other Fiats/Alfas but they have the disadvantages of being rare and expensive.. and you would also need to get caliper brackets made up, whereas the Stilo parts are more likely to be bolt-on fit... and you can find a whole Stilo being broken for the same price as the Mito calipers alone.
