Doing a timing chain on a 1.3 diesel
Any one know what standard bolt this is?
The replacement bolt in the kit is Torx E18.
This was hardly the same and now has rusted into this very defined shape?

I don't want to go at this if a special tool is required, they are supposed to be hard enough to get out and rounding the head certainly wouldn't help.

Any help appreciated.

I can't remember seeing anything like that on my GP.

Looks like somebody already had a go at this as mentioned in the post above?

It probably came off and they re-used the altered bolt.

Thanks for your comments guys.
The more I look, the more I think you are both correct.
I heard these are an absolute 🤮😡🤯😭 to get off so wish me luck.
Will have to hammer on a Torx E18 and use a long lever.
I wouldn't mind but all the timing chain kits I saw came with a new bolt. This wasn't the only not/bolt damaged, the disc grinder had to be used earlier.

Normal solution is to weld a nut on the top

The thermal shock also helps

Unfortunately not everyone has access to the tools needed, and we have to make do with what in the tool box
