Grande Punto 1.2 multijet - acceleration issues / engine - please help?

Hello - sorry if posting in the wrong area. I've issues with my fiat punto. When I start the car and rev it a few times then come to pull away regardless of the accelerator it will stall. I have to constantly use the clutch - was replaced when purchased so thing the issue had been bad with the previous owner too - it really struggles when I accelerate and pull away then when I do get it going after keeping the clutch down it runs at about 5miles an hour and all of a sudden revs and takes off. Same will happen when I come to stop at junctions, traffic lights etc - new clutch will be required shortly again I'm sure. Does anyone know what it could be? Any help would be much appreciated.

Which engine do you have?

A 1.2 8v petrol? Or a 1.3 Multijet?

Sounds like a clutch issue of some sort

Hi .and welcome..sounds like the engine is reluctant to build revs.. see PANDA section for moe 1,3 diesel info

Hello - Thanks for the response - It's a multijet 1.3 diesel. When I bought it the clutch needed replaced so it's obviously been an ongoing issue. Replaced the clutch but due to having to dip it constantly and rev to avoid stalling will prob need to replace again soon.

Hi, I've just had this same problem with my Fiat. I've got Panda 1.3 Dynamic Multijet. My problem was the EGR Valve. Had it replaced and Air system cleaned out. My engine kept cutting out and getting no Revs. Hope this helps
