Technical 1.2 8v clutch vs 1.2 16v interchangeable

1.2 8v clutch vs 1.2 16v interchangeable

i was wondering while on the big break

i got like 5 good clutches for 8v, but not even 1 for 16v
8v clutch push bearing is same as 16v but 16v disc is a little wider than 8v, dont know for sure about plate

did anyone try putting 8v clutch on 16v car?

what if i take 8v flywheel and put 8v clutch on 16v car, problem?
8v flywheel is same as 16v?
will clutch get ****ed up faster or?

I think you will find 16V clutch is 190mm V 8V at 180mm, AFAIK 1.4 16V is 200mm. Clutch plate obviously is heavier to allow for increase in power. I think they are both interchangeable as bell housing is the same.

Match the flywheels - and yea should be good to go to be honest...

ECU make take 2 mins to figure out a new idle speed - but cant see any issue otherwise

I know people slot 6spd to 5spd no issues - as splines on input shud be same

So Yea - good flywheels to clutch and shud be good to go

i know jonik fitted 16v clutch to 8v car, so why it shouldnt work the other way around

It will fit but the disc is smaller and the pressure plate not as strong!!!!!!! In other words it is a waste of time, but hey, go ahead but don't cry when it starts slipping

Yes my friend... the worst experiense ever... i told to the mechanic that 16v engines has diferent parts for everithing... he said its ok... he put a plate for 8v engine and he dumbasss tood me thats ok but it wasnt ok...the rpm goes crazy butvthe speed is low...now ibtake originalb16v clutch set and its ok...
