I wouldnt mind actually doing a 1.4 conversion tbh without the use of aftermarket management would be a very nice love messing with the centos wont be as fast as the other 1.4s but still will be quick taking in that aaron used lot of quality gear like the manifold exhaust induction etc etc

does the 75cam give you more power like does it chang the 0to60 and topspeed:confused: i relly dont no anythink about cars sorry

Well 0-60 doesn't really count in the real world. But a Punto 75 (the whole car that is) will leave a stock 1108 Cinq or Sei for dead (and must weigh considerably more, maybe 200k).

If we accept that Punto 60 engine (1242) puts out 60bhp and a Punto 75 (1242) engine puts out 75, then, the differences are basically that the 75 is MPI and has a better cam.

I think we can rule out the MPI as a significant factor: it's basically the same head as the MPI Sei, which doesn't appear to make significantly more power than the SPI Sei or Cinq.

So, the cam is what does it (and you can always clean the ports up).

Generally, lumpier cams will produce more power, at the expense of producing it higher up the rev band and with a narrower power band (peak torque and peak power closer together), so, more gearchanges, and much harder to drive.

The 75 cam is so good out of the crate that you can fit it and only feel positive results.

Has any of you seen a punto75 head next to a mpi sei head? if im right the inlet ports are bit larger correct me if im wrong also aint the valves are slightly larger too?

And much more fun, and you always get out the car with a smile

I can also tell you the 75 has a MONSTER TB compaired to the 60 (32mm v 40(or so)mm):slayer: and a 4-2-1 exhaust
Im 99% sure the valves are the same size but the porting is bigger on the intake side, not to sure about the 'zorst size tho

punto 75 has 38mm throttle body which can be adapted to take spi

so i guess this contributes to the power gain too,

Best bet is to pull the engine and box out of the 500 and stick it in the Cinq. :yum:

Failing that, it really depends on how far you want to go. There's not a lot of point in sticking £300 quids worth of cam in there without rebuilding and balancing the engine. We are talking very serious money, then. You're looking at £400 quid for a head job, alone.

Initially I'd look at wheels, brakes and tyres and suspension, moderate, inexpensive, engine work, then, if you like the track, spend more money.

Whatever you do, there will be stuff out there that will leave you for dead, and the biggest improvements, initially, will come from you.

Use a p75 cam with tb and a chip nice and reliable and cheap. How much would ya like to spend though?
A full super sprint exhaust from manifold gives a healthy gain
