Hi,
Just fitted an electrical cut-off swtich (needed for stage rallying), and this has meant that the ECU has been re-set, but now since re-starting the tick-over speed has now dropped a little.
I would like to increase this speed a bit, i remember reading on here ages ago how to do it.

Anyone got any ideas ??? Wish it was a carb now, there easy to adjust :)

Sorry for the delay Matt.

IIR there is no adjuster for the SPI idol as such (ah yer as on Haynes red page 13.75 LOL).

However, when the battery has been disconnected for over about 30 mins, there is a way of giving the ECU some good data to work from ;).

As outlined by Morty Mort some time ago (y) to reset the ECU, disconnect the battery for at least 30 mins... Re connect the battery, start and Idol till the fan kicks in. Switch off engine and the ECU is fully reset.

I didn’t have the tachometer plumed in at the time, so I can’t say how many revs I got at idol after the full rest.

Hope this helps. I’ve done it once, and I was wheel spinning everywhere for a bit . The ECU soon learns how to use fuel more efficiently :(, but it could make all the difference for you :D.

Regards All,
