I was told you can adjust ????? when you are driving its trying to select (grinding slightly) but just wont go in. Need to get van for doe and then drive . Has anyone heard of this and is there a quick fix. Out of work and no money only have van 1year 121klm .

Hi I'd like to no if you fixed this issue as I have a 2002 fiat ducato motorhome with 2.8jtd engine stored it for a month went back to it gears where all stiff managed to lube the linkage can now get every gear but 4th it's slid when trying to engage that gear only and won't attempt to go in its like hitting a brick wall so to speak thanks mike .

Hi Yes i,m in process of putting box back in ! The 4th gear repair was easy , the baulk ring retaining spring had snapped and part of it jammed blocking the syncro hub sliding over into 4th , i replaced whole hub , but could have just replaced £8 clip .The box repair was easy but i had a pull clutch that turned into a bit of fight , and also the selector rod ball bearing locators are refitted by undoing the 3 torque head grubb screws , they just would come out , penertrating , shock, heat no go , finally rounded torque out , so had to drill tap and put a bolt in to hold spring and ball bearing in place ! Hope this is of help

Hi, bit late to the party here but i found this as i'm having a issue with selecting 4th gear on my camper. I was wondering if anyone had any pointers for changing the baulk rings once the gearbox is out. I dont have the funds to be able to pay a garage to do the work for me and was hoping to use the winter to get it done as ive been without the van this past year.
Thanks in advance for any support
Cheers (y)
