I know there has been a few threads about the head unit radio not working, but no fix has worked for me to be honest. I think it might actually be dead on the radio bit. It is the stilo's HU Visteon with tape and radio.
Well the HU works on tape (using an jack to tape adapter in the car from my phone), but radio is not. It just doesn't pick up any frequencies, all I can hear is static noise.

I have done the tests (turn the HU on by pressing on the on/off/volume button longer than 1 second, then press 3 and 6 simultaneously then press other buttons for diff info), and it came up that my antennae signal is 0.4-1.0V where it should be 1.4 or 1.5V can't quite remember. Anyone know any fixes? or does anyone has the schematics for the hu?

Thanks for the support,
Andy

Sounds more like the aerial to me. Check the base of the aerial is properly grounded and not corroded. Also check the aerial connection into the head unit.

yeah i agree, the original aerials do eventually wear out, and any other aerial just dosent work as well as the oem.
heres what i replaced both of ours with last year

thats the same seller, they are actually cheaper.
both of our aerials were broken by a thief that broke them, they tried to remove them and broke the internals - maybe this is what happened to you, or did you go though a car wash as they bend them all over the place.

Its truly rubbish. Who is going to think to phone your car? Just buy an Aftermarket unit with Bluetooth.

What was rubbish about your CN+ Stu?

Had mine for 3½ years ever since I bought the Stilo.

The SatNav gets me all the way across Europe to Constanta on the Black Sea, and to Greece every year (and anywhere else I go in Europe and the UK). The radio and CD works adequately. The voice controls always work. The phone always works and as said above, it's useful having 2 phone numbers.

Perhaps yours was just a dud one.

andreist, where are you based? if you were near me, then we could of tried swapping head units to see if your unit had the same problem in my car or if mine had the issue in yours, then that might of helped track down the issue

Ive never had one. Just for the money you can get a much better result. The sat nav cant compete with the likes of TomTom which can be had for very little money and interchangeable between cars.

I didn't say I havnt used one. It's out dated. Technology has moved on since it was released over 10 years ago. It has no connectivity, doesn't play MP3s and there are considerable benefits to the sound using an Aftermarket unit.

mid-wales, Aberystwyth to be more exact, what about you?

@Dave Off-topic: I love Guinness!

@Stu I think it actually has mp3 player, isn't it right Dave?

Andy

I've never tried playing mp3 CDs with it because I have a SD card reader attached to mine instead of the CD Changer to play mp3s.

According to the Connect Nav+ handbook it does:

CONNECT Nav+ can recognize the
type of Compact Disc inserted. During
the reading procedure to recognize
the disk the display shows “Reading
CD...”. If the inserted CD is a MP3 one,
a specific management is activated.

Oh my god, you got a long way to welshpool. I don't know yet what I am doing on those dates but will keep you updated.
Cheers,
A
