Technical 02 punto mk2 8 valve

What are the valve clearances on the 8 valve engine ?

Thats not the spec iirc
Its got a range in it

Exhaust is always higher due to the heat

When i get chance - i'll get the haynes out and look

Only if valves have been reground in and tollerance is now too tight

Valve clearances are
In 0.40 +/- 0.05 mm
Ex 0.45 +/- 0.05 mm

Ours were still in range at 100 000 miles.

tbh they shouldnt wear that badly....

Only time you re-shim is if you have to regrind valves - which at that point - a fraction off may actually bring you back INTO spec

Inlet: 0.35 +/- 0.05 mm
Exhaust: 0.45 +/- 0.05 mm
