Ok folks, I recently saw a Vibro hammer being used to free up a corroded steering arm locking nut. It was very effective. Here's some video which gives the general idea:



One of the air tools I've never previously felt the need for is an air hammer. The all in one kits - air hammer with punches etc - are quite expensive:

Thanks Chris. There's an idea too. I was thinking about using it for vibro loosening of corroded fixings but you've made me think that this might come in very useful when I bust the rust off Becky's back axle before I try Dave's (I think it was Dave? - sorry, memory malfunction again! - chainsaw oil coating recommendation.
