Just had our 04 Idea in to have the clutch changed, We were warned at the last service that it would go soon as the engagement point was right at the top of the pedal travel, and go it did. Driving very gently on the slipping clutch occasionally the Temperature gauge would shoot up and a warning would display, though this would reset down to normal levels seconds later. Didn't feel like taking it 30m to my preffered garage with it acting like that so took it to a local Mr Clutch and got it changed today.

Picked up the car tonight, it seems to be running fine but the computer is warning of Engine Failure! Am I right in thinking that it is probably just in need of a reset at a fiat garage after the work done today, or should I be really worried? Mr Clutch didn't seem too concerned, but should I be?

Oh if only I'd know Mr Clutch's reputation to begin with. Loose earth lead on the transmission caused all kinds of crazy computer errors. Tow to a real garage and £50 quid for a diagnostic later and the car is running properly again. Come Monday, Mr Clutch will be getting phone call...

Mr clutch has a terrible rep.and they use inferior clutches.Ive been a engineer for years and have had to repair quite a few problems like the one your talking of check that all gearbox bolts have been put back and tightened..
