Hello all,
Any advice would be apprecited.
I rescued a 1975 from a barn. It had sat for 10 years and was not running when I purchased it.
I changed all of the normal stuff for the ignition, plugs wires etc.
Also put gumout in gas and cleaned carb.
Car was running like a champ until the other day.
I was accelerating through the gears when the car coughed hard and lost power.
I limped the car home having to restart every 15 to 20 seconds as it continually lost power.
I bought and changed the fuel filter, the car still starts fine, fuel is seen in the filter, but after 15-20 seconds of idle the car cuts off and the gas seems to return back into the supply line.
The previous owner installed a electric fuel pump in the trunk near the gas tank, it whirls upon turning the key and supplies the filter with gas, so I am not sure if the pump is bad or if there is another issue.
The car cuts off quicker if I try to rev with the throttle body.
Anyone experience this?

C'mon guys no one knows anything about fuel pumps?
I was hoping to get this car back on the road tonight.

If you can help please do.

thanks Spider75:eek:

It does sound like fuel starvation probably caused by a leaking diaphram in the pump. It is probably worth taking it apart and checking. You maybe able to source a repair kit for it.
