Don't I know it...sadly the tool wouldn't fit...seems I waited to long and the pistons had jumped off the thread. Let this be a lesson to everyone...ALWAYS CHECK YOUR PADS!!! :( lmao

Cheers for the (freakishly quick) answer :D

Same happened to me I think; this was the reason why the caliper was fooked and needed replacing - £155 on the credit card :D

just a thought for front calipers, instead of trying to push the piston back in against the hydraulic force, try cracking the bleed valve open a tadge whilst pushing the piston in, make sure you close the valve off completely before you stop pushing so that you don't get air in the system but it saves a lot of effort.

I've changed my front, now the rears need doing, is it any different from the fronts?

Simple answer to this question as alrady stated is YES the two proceedures are worlds apart on the near side the piston winds in on a anti clockwise rotation and on the off side on the clockwise rotation while pushing at the same time there are threads on this with different schools of thought on how to go about it and there is a tool available from fiat to do the job for you good luck Savi with the back ones :)
