As this is a Stilo issue, if you re-post it in the Stilo section you may get better help there. Others with the same radio unit will have a better idea of what may be wrong.

It seems that the mute is activated. If there is a mute button on the radio, I guess you've tried that. It could be that the steering wheel mute button is not now communicating, so does not un-mute.

Disconnecting the radio, waiting 10 minutes or so, then reconnecting may reset it. It should be recognised by the car, but would be a good idea to check if you have the radio security code before disconnecting it.
