Hi guys. (Again)

Anyone know a better explanation of the P0120 (Throttle/Pedal position sensor/ switch circuit A) error code

Been driving for 20 minutes, floored it on a dual carriageway (had done about 3/4 times earlier on the journey). Engine hesitated and errors on the dash came up for ASR and ESP.

After this the car wouldn’t accelerate as quickly.

Pulled over and restarted engine, ESP and ASR working again and car driving fine again.

Got the trusty code reader out and found 1 stored code - P0120.

Typically there are 2 position sensors on the throttle (accelerator) pedal A and B. The ecu detected a bad reading from A. So could be the sensor itself, a corroding or weakening termination in the connection block at the sensor or somewhere else in the loom or a chaffing wire. It might not happen again. Have a very good look around the pedal and wiring at it, flex and work any connections, you might promote a fix or proper fail if the cause is there. These faults need constant monitoring and attention to such details, often more than one pass, as a terminal can look OK but still be intermittent.
